This article is an original creation by the experienced fruit tester Ni Leichu.

Hi, I’m Ni Leichu, a post-90s global traveler. In the past two years, I have traveled to 80 countries. I’m also a freelance photographer, and I love to do cool things and take cool photos in cool places.

Traveling for a living may seem cool, but it’s actually tiring. So, to unwind, I play games. I play Honor of Kings and I’m the strongest King. However, many times I feel that it’s not smooth enough. This time, when I received the vivo iQOO from the Fruit Reviewer, the most attractive feature for me was the gaming performance of this phone.

Since its launch, iQOO has caught my attention with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, along with a maximum capacity of 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, making it a high-end model.

It retains the design elements of Vivo phones from the past two years, including a high screen-to-body ratio on the front, the waterdrop screen curve, and the colorful glass texture on the back.

But iQOO’s style is more cool and dazzling, with a series of “dark” color schemes: electric blue, lava orange, and the “beast version” known as the knight black. Of course, the thickness, weight, and feel of the phone are also somewhat different.

Now, let’s talk about the frontal appearance. iQOO is equipped with a 6.4-inch FHD+ (10802340) AMOLED screen, with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, significantly increasing the screen space. The top of the screen is a “waterdrop” shape, equipped with a hidden earpiece, light distance sensor, etc. It supports screen fingerprint and facial recognition for unlocking.

The back uses a 3D glass rear cover produced with AG technology, providing a metal-like touch and smooth glass surface. Additionally, the light track texture and the cool LED light strip give iQOO a design similar to some gaming phones, making it irresistible for a gaming enthusiast like me.

The day after receiving the vivo iQOO from the Fruit Reviewer, I happened to be heading to Bangkok, so I took it with me for a trip to Bangkok. It accompanied me in capturing a lot of precious material. Its powerful gaming performance made me less bored while waiting for the plane, going through security, and eating. I can hold it and play games, watch TV shows in any situation, it’s just so comfortable~

Below are two images of me using the vivo iQOO to relax while waiting for luggage and during takeoff at the airport.

First, let’s talk about its gaming performance. It comes with the standard Snapdragon 855 mobile platform, providing up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. With the Snapdragon 855 mobile platform, there is no doubt that it is the most powerful processing platform in the Android camp.

The powerful hardware configuration also determines the gaming performance. After adjusting all the frame rates in Honor of Kings to the maximum, both the recorded frame data and the actual visual impression show that iQOO’s gaming performance is outstanding.

The right side of the phone is equipped with dual-pressure sensitive buttons, which are equivalent to the RB and LB keys of a game controller. Pressing them together activates the game space, allowing the phone to perform with maximum power. Furthermore, the linear motor added to the phone provides a more realistic vibration experience during gaming. Additionally, the breathing light band on the back of the phone provides corresponding lighting feedback based on entering the “game space” and “game operations”.

When I used to play Honor of Kings, there were occasional frame skipping and delayed action due to hardware issues, leading to an unpleasant gaming experience and eventually losing matches. For a top King like me, losing a match is a very painful thing. I might lose a star for just one match mistake.

I can accept losing a game due to my own mistakes in operations, but I really can’t stand losing a match due to phone hardware issues. And this is why I’m so fond of the vivo iQOO – it’s not a gaming phone, yet it has such powerful capabilities.
